Summer begins with Memorial Day weekend and this year my reading list has tripled in length. There are SO many good books coming out this Summer that I've managed to narrow it down to ones I'm the most excited about.
Mary Kay Andrews "The High Tide Club"
Summer begins with a MKA novel!! After taking a chance on "The Weekenders", I simply cannot stop reading her books. Her latest work, The High Tide Club, has everything a good beach read needs.. drama, humor, double-dealings, & a touch of murder.. or murders I should say.
This novel dances between present day & the 1940s right at the start of WW2. A tale of old friendships, secrets, betrayal and a long-unsolved murder is quickly laid out by a 99 year old looking to right her wrong doings.
Elin Hilderbrand "The Perfect Couple"
If MKA is to the Queen of Summer in the South, then Hilderbrand rules the New England area. I breezed through her latest novel "The Identicals" in a weekend. This upcoming book is sure to be no different.
A lavish wedding on Nantucket, a runaway bride, & a mysterious dead body in the habour. Everyone is a suspect!
This one is set to release on June 19th & you know I've got it pre-ordered.
Beatriz Williams "The Summer Wives"
I found this author by accident on Pinterest. Her books are the perfect blend of historical fiction, New England glamour, and mysteries.
"The Summer Wives" is set on an island off the New England coast post-WW2. On this elitist, quiet island there are two classes of people; summer families & working class of Portuguese who earn their living by tending to the summer families.
When a murder takes place on the island, nothing is the ever the same. This obvious page turner will be released on July 10th and pairs well with a Gin & Tonic.
